Ashley received a scholarship to study at the Disquiet International Literary Program for her short story, “Aunt Maryann Was Stolen.” Another one of her short stories, "Daddy's Girl," received the SLS-St. Petersburg Review prize and was published in the St. Petersburg Review. She was also awarded a writing fellowship with The Edward F. Albee Foundation.

 

Ashley is a frequent contributor to the online and print versions of Moviemaker Magazine and has interviewed John Patrick Shanley and Mary Stuart Masterson, as well as covered various film festivals.  She also writes for The Huffington Post, where she has interviewed Gael Garcia Bernal, Benicio del Toro, Alexander Siddig, Todd Lieberman, Joshua Leonard and more.
