Ashley has written four books. Her most recent, Along Comes the Association: Beyond Folk Rock and Three-Piece Suits with original Association band member Russ Giguere, and featuring a foreword from David Geffen, was published in 2020.

 

Ashley received a scholarship to study at the Disquiet International Literary Program for her short story, “Aunt Maryann Was Stolen,” which was published by Cosmonauts Avenue. Another one of her short stories, "Daddy's Girl," received the SLS-St. Petersburg Review prize and was published in the St. Petersburg Review. She was also awarded a writing fellowship with The Edward F. Albee Foundation and has been a contributor to Moviemaker Magazine and The Huffington Post. She is currently at work on a new book.
